WIRE: Empowering Women and Girls in Lasbela, Balochistan

Empower a woman, transform a community.

Introduction

With over two decades of dedicated service in the Lasbela community, we have recognized a fundamental truth: meaningful social change is unattainable without empowering the women of our region. Driven by this vision, we established WIRE (WANG Initiative for Rural Empowerment). Our mission is to elevate Lasbela’s women by bringing their handcrafted products to the global market and equipping young girls with modern skills to secure bright futures.

Mission & Vision

Mission

WIRE is committed to fostering economic and social empowerment for women and girls in Lasbela. By integrating traditional craftsmanship with cutting-edge technology, we strive to create sustainable opportunities that uplift entire families and communities.

Vision

Our vision is to create a society where every woman and girl can dream big and access the resources needed to realize those dreams. We aim to build a future where education is a guarantee of a bright tomorrow, not a burden, and where digital skills open doors to global opportunities.

Challenges

Many women in Lasbela lack formal education, limiting their income-generating opportunities. Additionally, recurrent climate disasters have severely impacted their ability to sustain livelihoods, exacerbating economic instability and social disparities.

Our Solutions

WALI (WANG Lab of Innovation)

Through our WALI, we provide women and girls with essential digital skills. This training enables them to leverage modern technology to market their products online, expanding their reach and creating new streams of income.

Mother-Daughter Collaboration Model

WIRE introduces a unique Mother-Daughter Collaboration Model where mothers and daughters work together to enhance their economic status. Women engaged in home-based work, agriculture, or sewing receive support to integrate their skills with the digital world. Their daughters, in turn, learn digital skills to market their mothers’ products globally and pursue employment opportunities from Lasbela, ensuring a sustainable and empowered future.

Industrial Stitching Unit

We have established an industrial-level stitching unit equipped with 10 modern machines. Products manufactured here are sold online and fulfill the needs of local public and private schools. This revenue model ensures WIRE’s sustainability while providing reliable income for the women involved.

Income Model

Our revenue model is designed to ensure sustainability and maximize impact:
